HOME FRAGRANCE CARE

The first burn is the most important. To help your candle burn evenly and prevent tunneling, allow the wax to melt completely across the surface of the candle the first time it is lit. A full melt pool creates a clean, efficient burn and helps the candle perform beautifully throughout its life.

Each time you light your candle, allow it to burn long enough for the melted wax to reach the edges of the vessel. As a general guideline, burn the candle for at least one hour per inch of its diameter. For example, a candle measuring 3 inches in diameter should burn for approximately three hours to achieve a complete melt pool.

Before the first burn, trim the wick to ¼ inch. Continue trimming the wick to ¼ inch before each use to encourage an even flame and help prevent soot. If the flame becomes unusually large, extinguish the candle, allow it to cool, and trim the wick before relighting. Using a candle snuffer instead of blowing out the flame may also help reduce soot.

CANDLE SAFETY

  • Remove all packaging from and around the candle before lighting. Never light a candle inside or near its gift box.
  • Always keep a burning candle within sight.
  • Never burn a candle on or near anything that may catch fire, including furniture, draperies, books, paper, clothing, plants or other flammable materials.
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended. Extinguish the candle before leaving the room or going to sleep, and make sure the wick ember is no longer glowing.
  • Always burn candles in a well-ventilated room.
  • Keep burning candles away from drafts, open air vents and ceiling fans. This will help prevent uneven or rapid burning and excess soot.
  • The candle vessel and wax will become hot during use. Never move a candle while it is lit.
  • Do not move the candle until it has been extinguished, completely cooled and the wax has re-solidified.
  • Discontinue use and discard the candle when ½ inch of wax remains. Continuing to burn the candle beyond this point may cause heat damage to the surface beneath it or breakage of the glass vessel.
  • Do not allow the flame to touch the sides of the glass vessel. Proper wick maintenance will help prevent this.
  • Place the candle on a stable, protected, dry and heat-resistant surface. Do not burn candles directly on glass-top surfaces.
  • Extinguish the candle immediately if the vessel becomes excessively hot.
  • Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.
  • Do not burn a candle if the vessel is cracked, chipped or scratched.
  • Keep the wax pool free of trimmed wick pieces, matches and other debris.
  • Never use a knife or sharp object to remove wax from a glass vessel. Doing so may scratch or weaken the glass and cause it to break during future use.
  • Keep all matches and lighters out of the reach of children.
  • Always follow the burning instructions provided with each candle.

DIFFUSER CARE

  • Allow the reeds to absorb the fragrance oil for 24 hours before flipping them for the first time.
  • Flip the reeds every two to three days to maintain a continuous fragrance.
  • Never light the reeds.
  • Keep the diffuser away from open flames.
  • Diffuser oil may damage polished, painted or other delicate surfaces.
  • Before placing the diffuser on a protected, level surface, wipe away any residual oil from the bottom of the bottle.
  • Keep the diffuser out of the reach of children and pets.
  • Always read and follow the warning label included with your diffuser before use.
